God Could and Would

God could and would if he were sought. If we took the actions of seeking guidance from our Higher Power.

During active addiction my ears were closed. I did not seek him, and even if I heard him I did not want to hear him. My chemical dependency was my main focus. Above and beyond anything...family, friends, paying bills, work, the list goes on and on and on...

Pride and Ego were my running mates. It takes humility to listen to someone else's opinion, especially in active addiction because we know "we are right" and do not want to take the time to listen to others opinions. Ego/Pride comes into play when others want to reach out to us with their opinion.

Humility leads us to trusting a person. It takes a spiritual Awakening to trust someone. Addicts never trust anyone. Not even their self. You have to learn to trust that "they" will not intimate those items that you have trusted sharing with them.

To be able to do that, there has to be a Spiritual Connection. We almost have to be "armed" with spirituality to be able to understand the disease, addiction. With this Knowledge we then have to fight the disease that is cunning and baffling. Without this, we will fail. Just as an army would fail not being "armed" going into battle.

God Could and Would if he were sought...He Can and He Will.
