What a beautiful day today was. The sky was blue and fall weather had arrived. This morning as I awoke I noticed the trees out on the streets of Downtown Nashville were being trimmed back for the winter months to approach. I never understood why trees were trimmed until a few years back when I took landscaping and gardening as a hobby for my yard.
God is a World Renowned Horticulturist. Though we may have strayed from our Higher Power, our roots are still planted deep in the soil of his love. The roots will continue to grow through our wanting and needing Him to lead us to Serenity Peace and Understanding. To be like God.
My life is now being created as if God were a "World Renowned Horticulturist" in my life. My roots are deep in the soil and he has trimmed back my limbs for the new growth. The older limbs are symbols of addiction, lies, deceit, disrespect, selfishness, greed, etc. etc. etc.
While watching the gentlemen trimming off the old branches gave me a feeling of newness today. A weight lifted off of my body of the past years struggles and feelings that are not vital to me in my spiritual growth with God. It was beautiful. I could see the full figure of the gorgeous tree and how the trunk was the soul of tree but only could fathom the roots so deep searching for better soil, more water, and better nutrients to allow this beautiful creature that God had made to replenish itself for Spring.
It is a time for me to look once again and delete, deflect and deter the negativity that I do not want in my life anymore. I am a beautiful tree and searching for God's food of wisdom through others like myself, in readings, daily devotionals and prayer.
Thank you God for trimming and pruning my limbs of life that were not going to be beneficial to me in the future and to know that they will be much stronger and be more productive for my spiritual growth. You are a loving God.
