Thy Will and Thy Way

It's easy to want it our way...by our terms. It's difficult to turn these wants and desires over. Aren't we in control of our destiny? If I do this won't it result in this. Or if I do this certain action it will result in this action from the other.

In a way I believe we do have control of our destiny. If I were to get in my car and drive it 90 miles per hour into a brick wall, I am determining the destiny that I am going to wreck my car and may loose my life. However, I also believe that God has a plan for our lives.

Instead of contemplating the "what ifs", I turn this over to God now. It is his will and his way. This is not always easy, however since I have been in recovery I have learned that my life becomes more simple when I do this. It is not always the answer or the outcome that I would like, but I have freedom from self determining my own will/fate.

God is not going to fail us. He does not want to inflict pain on us nor will he. It is not my will and way today, It is His.
